I. H42H Cast Steel Vertical Check Valve - Overview

The H42H cast steel vertical check valve is a valve where the valve disc slides along the centerline of the valve body. The vertical pipe check valve is a newly emerged type of valve, featuring a simple structure, fewer components, and light weight. It has good external processing performance and is one of the development directions of check valves. However, the flow resistance coefficient is slightly larger than that of the swing check valve. Vertical check valves are widely used in various pipelines in the petroleum, chemical, pharmaceutical, and power industries where it is necessary to prevent the backflow of media. H42H can be equipped with a spring or not depending on the installation condition (vertical or horizontal).

II. H42H Cast Steel Vertical Check Valve - Working Principle

The H42H series vertical check valve can prevent the backflow of media and play the role of media stoppage. When the pressure of the medium at the inlet end is higher than that at the outlet end, the H42H cast steel vertical check valve is in an open state. Due to the pressure of the medium at the inlet end in the pipeline, it pushes the valve disc to open the valve automatically. When the pressure of the medium at the inlet end is lower than that at the outlet end, the spring will push the valve disc towards the valve seat, causing the valve to close (note: in horizontal installation, a spring is required; in vertical pipeline installation, no spring is needed. The valve disc will automatically close under the weight of the valve disc and the pressure of the reverse-flow medium).
