The extended rod stop valve, in its literal sense, refers to the elongation of the valve stem of the stop valve. Generally, when the installation of the valve stem pipeline requires that the stop valve be buried underground beyond the ground depth by 15 meters, it is necessary to reasonably extend the valve stem of the stop valve according to the actual requirements of the construction site, so that workers can operate the stop valve and observe from the ground. The valve stem undergoes quenching and surface nitriding treatment, which has good corrosion resistance and friction resistance. The valve stem is integrated as a whole, without using a segmented welding structure, and is stable without shaking, ensuring safety and reliability.
Features of the extended rod stop valve
The extended rod stop valve can be installed at any position of the pipeline. Usually, small-diameter and low-pressure stop valves can choose the low-in-high-out installation, which is convenient for opening and closing, and at the same time, when the valve is in the closed state, the middle flange gasket between the valve body and the valve cover and the packing in the valve stem stuffing box are not under pressure, greatly extending the service life of the valve, reducing the possibility of leakage of the valve, eliminating the need for frequent maintenance, and reducing labor costs. For large-diameter stop valves, due to poor sealing performance, a high-in-low-out structure is usually adopted. By using this method, when the valve is in the closed state, the medium pressure acts on the valve disc, increasing the sealing performance of the valve.

Apart from austenitic steel with a face-centered cubic crystal lattice, copper, aluminum, and other general steels will exhibit low-temperature brittleness when in a low-temperature state, thereby reducing the strength and service life of the valve. Aluminum does not exhibit low-temperature brittleness at low temperatures, but due to the low hardness of aluminum and aluminum alloys, the wear resistance and scratch resistance of the aluminum sealing surface are poor. Therefore, the use of aluminum in low-temperature shut-off valves is limited and is only selected in low-pressure and small-diameter valves.
